Biography
Paul Kimsey is a trial attorney with over 25 years of experience. He concentrates on serious injury claims, disability insurance claims, ERISA and mediation. He obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Georgia in 1990. In 1993, he graduated with honors from Stetson University College of Law, where he served on the Stetson Law Review. Mr. Kimsey was admitted to practice law by The Florida Bar in 1993 and has been a litigation attorney ever since. In 1997, he established his own law firm.
Mr. Kimsey holds certifications as a Civil Circuit Mediator for the Florida Supreme Court and a Mediator for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He has achieved the esteemed "AV Preeminent" rating through Martindale-Hubbell, indicating the highest level of professional excellence determined by peer reviews and the judiciary. Additionally, Mr. Kimsey is a distinguished member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and has received a flawless 10/10 rating from Avvo, a widely respected attorney rating system.
Mr. Kimsey has served as an adjunct professor in the MBA program at the University of South Florida – St. Petersburg since 2014. He teaches advanced negotiation to graduate-level students. He has also been a lecturer in continuing legal education courses approved by The Florida Bar. These courses cover a variety of topics, including catastrophic personal injury cases, wrongful death litigation, ERISA, lien law, negotiation, mediation, litigation tactics and trial strategy.
Additionally, he has worked with Auburn University as a guest instructional mediator and lecturer. He has also worked with Stetson University College of Law as a teaching fellow. Furthermore, he completed a Federal Judicial Internship with the Chief Judge for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division. His experience also includes working with the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Mr. Kimsey is a licensed attorney. He is admitted to practice law by the Florida Supreme Court and the United States Federal District Courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. Mr. Kimsey is an active member of several bar associations. These include the Florida Justice Association and the Hillsborough County Bar Association. He is also involved with the Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers Association, where he has served on the Board of Directors and the Committee on Ethics and Professionalism.
